Charlee’s Slice:
Its finals week, the quarter is almost over. I just have a research paper to finish and turn in, which I am delaying for the umpteenth time this week. I got invited to go see a friend’s band play downtown tonight, but at last minute decided not to. Mostly because I have no one to go with, since everyone is either out of town or too busy studying for the last of their finals. So here I am stressing out about a bullshit paper, instead of drooling over a very tan and gorgeous musician. And my priorities are in line? Last weekend, I was a studying machine! Well, sort of, when I wasn’t out spending all my time having fun. I met up with Erika twice to do homework. It was somewhat successful homework wise, very successful fun wise. We went to what is sure to become our party hub this summer. Austin, Alex, Craig, Jacob, and Cory all moved into this giant house just off of Valhalla drive, it is going to be insane. We are going back this weekend to face off in a game of beer pong, Erika and Peter vs. Austin and me. Anyway, we were there on Saturday so Erika could take pictures of the boys dressed as what the rolling stones would be like if they were a contemporary band for a project for her English class. Those boys are hilarious, put them in costume and it is bound to be a good time. Also, Joe was in town this weekend, so of course we took him to herding cats. They were amazing as usual aside from the fact that they didn’t play “hard to handle” or jet. Also, Joe and Rachel were giving me a hard time for not talking to Jon. I just figure, I’ve been like seven times and have never conversed with him, why start now? That is not entirely true, Erika gave me the perfect conversation starter, I’m just too chicken shit. Regardless, Joe, Keri, and Erin are all convinced Jon was staring at me all night. Yeay! Maybe next weekend, but probably not. But for my second encounter with Joe, I would say it was a good one. I think he is pretty funny, and he seemed completely at ease being the only dude in a group of girls, which is not an easy feat. Especially, when you have critical Erin in one corner and sarcastic Charlee in the other. Speaking of sarcasm, my meter has been off lately, comments just keep going over my head. Maybe I just become more gullible when the weather gets muggy. For example, before the led zeppelin medley, which is our cue to dance, Jon says “You might as well not even bother getting up, this one is extremely hard to dance to, just keep sitting.” And I was like “What! But I love to dance to this one!” and then I got shit for it all night. I got back to Bellingham on Monday night, for my 8 am chem. Final on Tuesday. I woke up at 5:30 AM convinced I slept through my alarm, and was not able to get back to sleep. The day continued to get awesome from there. I found $5.00 in jeans I hadn’t worn in a while. My final consisted of watching a 5 minute clip from the Simpsons to answer a bonus question. I got a call as I was leaving my final that my application on the apartment was accepted. On my way home, I was howdied by a cowboy in pajamas. He had on crazy blue flannel duck pants, his leather cowboy boots and hat, and a coffee in one hand. It was stellar. Too bad it wasn’t a howdy ,pilgrim or it would have made my day. Later that day I went to sushi but didn’t order any. And avoided my paper some more. Other than that, the week has been kind of boring since half my friend base is back in Kirkland, but they will be arriving back here tomorrow, to my utter delight. The rest of the week will consist of graduation parties, all of which I should have been a part of, but instead will be throwing one for myself next march! Charlee did not have pie today, she had spaghetti!
Rachel’s Slice:
So this big huge part of me wants to gush on for the next fifty pages about Joe the Physicist. But, I really like the guy—okay more than like the guy—and because of that I find it very difficult to go into great detail about it. Let’s just say that our amazing date was well worth the wait! I rode my beautiful white steed (Jeep) out to pick Joe up from his parent’s house where I *gasp!* met the parents. Now let me tell you, when I get dressed up, I go all out. And since the top was off the Jeep, I had in enough hairspray to rival any coifed beauty queen. So hopefully they didn’t look at me and think “Oh goodness, this girl is trying far too hard for a Sunday night.” Or worse, “My son is getting some tonight—she looks like the type that gives an amazing blowjob.” ACK! Oh well, Charlee tried to make me feel better by asking what there is about me not to like. I suppose if I charmed my Evil Ex’s fanatical Christian grandparents, normal amazing parents like Joe’s shouldn’t be too tough.
So, I just gotta say that if Herding Cats didn’t exist, my life would be a lot more boring. Dancing was amazing, and I finally had a worthy audience for all my eyelash batting and flirty dance moves. You should have seen the little role-playing I did to Jessie’s Girl to try and get Erin out on the dance floor(I think at one point I sort of used Joe as a pole to rub against for the line “lovin’ him with that body,”-goodness). Then, I took Joe home to my house and we spent the evening cuddling and snuggling. I would completely understand if you feel the need to barf at all this mushy stuff right now. The next morning I impressed Joe with my amazing culinary skills by fixing up some amazing waffles with strawberries and whipped cream! He sure is lucky I think he’s cute.
After I tearfully parted from Joe(I kid, there were no tears), I had to drive two-ish hours up to Bellingham to take my freaking Psych 101 final! 50 questions and I finished in 15 minutes. What the fuck! The last two days I’ve spent finishing up my other two finals—my short story for fiction writing and an essay for Sci-Fi Lit. So it’s back up to Bellingham again tomorrow to turn in my shit and join Charlee for some much needed pie! Beautiful. Then, Friday is the little sis’s graduation where Peter and I plan to chill in the back with a flask(I wish!) and party it up afterwards. Then for the second Sunday in a row we’re hitting up Herding Cats! Beautiful beginning to summer!
There are other things that have happened in my life in the last few days. Like texting Dan when we were both drunk. Or seeing the Broman’s new tattoo. That I moved home for the summer. There are just oh so many things I could also elaborate on. But I just don’t have the heart—since all I can think about is that Joe kind-of meant it when he signed a letter to me: “Love, Joe”
Sigh, did I mention I get to see him again since he left his shirt in my Jeep? Life is beautiful.
XOXO, Rachel
