Charlee's slice:
Today Rachel happened upon a wonderful discovery that I am so glad she shared with me. Romance novels specifically directed towards women who get their panties in a twist over Nascar drivers. eharlequin.com provides us with this little insight into their miniseries that seems to have turned out quite a fan base.
"The rush of the professional race car circuit; the thrill of falling in love. These NASCAR romances are sure to keep you on the edge of your seat as you read about the thrilling twists and turns both on the racetrack and on the track to love. "
This filled our afternoon with quite a few laughs. yikes. In fact, I thought it was so funny I went home and drafted my own plot line:
"Driving Stick: A Nascar Romance" by charlee
Just as mandy thought she had it made in the world of women's race car driving, old photos of her in a rather "racy" situation with an old fling threatens her sponserships. just when it looks like kellogs is about to pull out, Damion, the old fling and new owner of Off-Brand Cereals is more than willing to fund mandy's shot at the big time racing. but does it all come at a price?
the answer to that hypothetical question is yes. YES it does. but you will have to wait until harlequin picks up the story to find out just what that price is.....
rachel didnt get the driving stick in the title is in reference to driving a manual car. is it vague? i dont know, you think that she would get it since she does infact drive a stick shift.
Rachel's slice:
I’m going to say it right now: I will look for any excuse for a pie date—which is why the idea of watching a lesbian romance this afternoon was just not appetizing. But luckily, my group project was put off for another day since none of us could find time to watch three hours worth of heaving bosoms this afternoon! Pie Time!
It was in my lovely Women in Lit class, for which I’m watching the Lesbian Romance, that I learned of the Nascar romance. So while Charlee is drafting up a hot racetrack romance, I’ve decided to pay my college loans off with the rights to an Erotic Fiction I’m working on for the Harlequin SPICE line. As Charlee has indicated…I’m the wild oversexed one. This means I’ve got some great material to draw from—Write what you know!
This weekend I have a bar date with my favorite Broman. Most likely after a couple Mai Tais for me, and double the Whiskey-Cokes for him, I’ll get in some good “research material”. Details to follow(if they’re funny/juicy).
…I got the stick shift reference after the second time of reading it. Perhaps I’m thinking too Freudian lately?
XOXO, Rachel
Today for pie: Rachel had apple a la mode and Charlee had mixed berry rhubarb.
